Which simply means that Admission processing for the year 2023 would commence soon.
In this blog post, I will be giving insights on some factors to be considered before picking a course and institution during JAMB registration. A lot of candidates do make a lot of mistakes when it comes to picking a course and institution during JAMB registration. But trust me, by the end of this post, you would know the factors to be considered during JAMB registration.
Factors To Consider Before Picking A Course And Institution During JAMB Registration
1. Choose Your Proposed Course Of Study
During JAMB registration, it is advisable for you to pick your proposed course of study. What I actually mean by this is to pick the course you have passion for and also love.
2. Don’t Choose A Course That Beyond Your Capacity
During JAMB registration, you don’t need to pick a course that beyond your capacity that you won’t be able to cope with after gaining admission. Pick a course that you are capable of and you have passion for it.
Another important thing you have to know is that, it is not advisable to pick a course or an institution just because your friend also picked samething. Know your worth and what you are capable of. Your friend might be capable of studying MBBS where as you might not be capable due to one or two conditions.
3. Know The Correct Subject Combination For Your Proposed Course Of Study
This is one of the key factors candidates must note during JAMB registration. You must know the correct subject combination for your proposed course of study because picking a wrong subject combination during JAMB registration for your proposed course of study is automatic disqualification and you might not be considered for that course and you might be favoured if the institution wish to change your programme to the one that suits your subject combination. But this is very rare, for this reason, ensure you make proper research on the right subject combination that suits your proposed course of study before going to the registration centre.

4. Pick Institution(s) You Know You Would Meet Up With Their Admission Requirements
Another important factor to be considered during JAMB registration is to pick Institution(s) you know you would meet up with their admission requirements. For example don’t pick an institution just because your friend picked it. Pick institution you know you will surely meet up with their admission requirements no matter how hard their admission may be. Be it a University, Polytechnic, Monotechnic, and College Of Education.
Pick institution you know you can easily meet up with their Cut Off Marks. Another important thing is that, make sure you make proper research about the total payable fees they are paying in your proposed institution so that it won’t be stressful for you to pay their fees after gaining admission. In short, pick institution based on what you can afford.
5. Ensure The Centre Operator Is Inputting The Correct Details
During JAMB Registration, you have to be very careful and make sure the details the computer operator is inputting is correct. Because sometimes, they do a make some mistakes which could result to something else or cost a little fee to effect the changes after detecting it later due to rushing.
Ensure your name is uniform as well. Make sure the name on your SSCE results match the one on your NIN and your JAMB profile code including your date of birth.
