DEMISE OF ADEBOLA OLUWATUMININU MERCY

The Management of The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has declared tomorrow, Friday, 10th of February, 2023 as Lecture-Free day following the demise of a student of the prestigious University. The statement reads as;

“It is unfortunate that we lost one of our students, Adebola Oluwatumininu Mercy to the cold hands of death after being rushed by the University Medical Centre to Federal Medical Centre, Ido on an emergency.”

Her death was a result of injuries sustained when she was hit by a fast moving vehicle driven by a student along the old school road in Oye Ekiti.

Before her demise, she was a student in the Faculty of Arts.

Because of the unfortunate incident the Vice Chancellor and some University Management members met few minutes ago and resolved that;

  • Some selected management members should contact her family immediately.
  • Tomorrow, Friday, 10th February, 2023 be declared as a lecture free day as a sign of last respect for the lost great soul.
  • Members should remember the dictum in the Bible which says, “God give and take, may His holy name be praised”

God in His Infinite Mercy will put an end to untimely death among our students.

Thank you

Signed

Prof Dosu Malomo
