In this blog post, I will be showing you easy steps on how to create JAMB profile code.
It is not a new news that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has approved Saturday, January 14, 2023 as the official date for the commencement of registration for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) which will officially close on Tuesday February 14, 2023.
This simply means that JAMB would commences sales of UTME Form on Saturday, January 14, 2023 and end on Tuesday February 14, 2023. Following this, the board has directed all candidates to generate a 10-digit profile code which would be used for registration by sending their NIN to 55019 or 66019.
If you are among the set of candidates that don’t know how to generate JAMB profile code or you are yet to generate the code, this post is extremely for you as I will be giving detailed steps on how to generate JAMB profile code.

How To Create JAMB Profile Code
Below are easy steps on how to create JAMB profile code.
- Open the SMS app on your phone
- Type the word “NIN“, leave a space and enter your 11-digit NIN number. e.g NIN 12345678901
- A profile code of 10 characters would be sent to you on your telephone number you used to request for the profile code.
- You can now proceed to JAMB office or any JAMB accredited CBT Centre with your profile code to complete your registration
- You are required to pay a non refundable fee of #4,700 to purchase JAMB E-pin.
Note: You must have Fifty Naira (#50) airtime on your sim card before you can generate JAMB profile code.
Alternatively, you can create JAMB profile code by dialing *55019*1*your NIN# or *66019*1*your NIN# to get your 10 digits profile code.

How To Retrieve JAMB Profile Code
If you forgot your JAMB profile code, you don’t need to worry, here are simple steps to retrieve your JAMB profile code.
- Open the SMS app on your phone
- You to use use the phone number you used to generate the forgotten profile code to send the SMS
- send the word “RESEND” to “55019 or 66019”
- Your profile code would be sent to your phone.
Alternatively: You can retrieve your JAMB profile code by:
- Logging in to https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng
- Enter the email address and password you used for JAMB registration
- Click on “Log in”
- Your profile code would be displayed to you at the main dashboard.
Important Information
The Joint Admissions And Matriculation Board (JAMB) adviced candidates that have written UTME before not to generate a new profile code. You are to use the profile code you have generated before during previous year’s UTME for new registration.
