A member of the Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU) has revealed that a fresh strike lingers due to federal government refusal to respect negotiations.
The source who don’t want his name on print disclosed this to MySchoolPlug “we are meeting on Monday to decide on the Federal Government’s move. I don’t think there will be anything that can stop the union from going on fresh strike. Agreement is agreement”.
A meeting is scheduled to hold on Monday by the National Executive Council (NEC) to discuss on the ongoing situation. The union were paid half salary for October by the Federal Government when they were expecting full eight month witheld salary.
It is in this meeting Nigerian students’ fate would be decided whether they would be leaving the school premises or not.
When our correspondent contacted the ASUU chairman, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke regarding the meeting on Monday, he attested to it but refused to disclose the date.
However MySchoolPlug gathered that ASUU NEC holds an emergency meeting Monday to discuss the latest issue lingering regarding half payment for October by the Federal Government.
