The management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife on Tuesday has fixed a resumption date for students, MYSCHOOLPLUG is exclusively reporting.
This is coming following the suspension of nationwide and internal strike embarked upon by the academic staff union of universities (ASUU).
It could be recalled that the OAU management had urged the general public, particularly the students, their parents and guardians, to ignore the purported strike action by the ASUU, stating that other faction of the academic staff, CONUA have the interest of the students at heart and would continue lecturing on campus.
But the institution later embarked on a mid-semester break blaming the development on the persistent industrial actions embarked upon by various university unions including SSANU AND NASU.
According to OAU management, students are to resume back to campus on Wednesday October 19, 2022.
A top official of the university senate who attended the senate meeting confirmed the date to MYSCHOOLPLUG on Tuesday.
The decision to announce the resumption date was taken at the meeting which lasted for some hours on Tuesday.
